TSO’s Education Programmes
Toronto Symphony Volunteer Committee members actively participate in the following Toronto Symphony Orchestra education programmes. [Note: Volunteer training is provided to those volunteers participating in the Adopt-a-Player and Morning with the TSO programmes.]
Adopt-a-Player: Volunteers support TSO musicians and teachers in assisting elementary school children (grades 4-5) to create an original piece of music.
Morning with the TSO: Volunteers greet and orient teachers and high school music students attending a TSO rehearsal. Relevant information is provided to enrich the student’s experience.
Preludes: Volunteers do not participate in the general Preludes programme. However, volunteers do assist TSO musicians at special presentations designed for hospitalized children or children with special needs.
Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra: The TSVC provides financial support to the TSYO through an annual gift.
