TSVC Maestro's Grand PianoIn honour and celebration of the TSO’s 90th anniversary, the TSVC has gifted the Maestro’s studio in Roy Thomson Hall with a new piano.

The piano, a Steinway Grand O, was selected by Canadian pianist James Parker of the Gryphon Trio. Since September 2011, guest performers and the TSO’s Principal Keyboard, Patricia Krueger, have been lavish in their praise of this new instrument.

To finance this gift, the TSVC has made a commitment of $15,000 per year over 3 years. Your donation, in any amount, will help us achieve this goal and can be used to honour family, friends and/or special occasions or achievements.

Consider this more tangible and novel recognition …

A $100 donation will give you the right to name one key of your choice from any of the 88 keys of the piano keyboard. For donations in multiples of $100 you might consider an octave, a triad, a chord, a scale or any musical interval of your choice.

Any donation over $20 will receive a tax receipt. Gift cards will be sent upon request.

“I’ve really enjoyed working on the new Steinway Grand Piano in the Music Director’s Studio. It’s a really beautiful instrument and it greatly inspired my stay here in Toronto, along with working with the wonderful TSO and Maestro Stéphane Denève.” Lars Vogt, TSO guest artist October, 2011
